Pork Tenderloin with Pears and
Honey
(serves six)
Ingredients:
750 g pork filet
two pears, peeled,
cored and cut into eights
juice of one lemon
one onion, peeled and
cut into thin wedges
3 tblsp soy sauce
1 tblsp runny honey
1 tblsp olive oil
1 tsp five spice
mixture (Szechuan pepper, star anise seed, fennel seed, cloves,
cinnamon)
salt and pepper
Method:
Mix lemon juice, honey
and soy sauce and marinade the meat in this mixture for at least one hour.
Pre-heat the oven to
180°C. Scatter the onion wedges into an oven-proof dish, put the meat on top
(reserving the marinade) and drizzle with the olive oil. Sprinkle the five
spice mixture over, add three tblsp water and roast in the oven for 20 minutes.
Add pears and marinate
und roast for a further 20 minutes. Occasionally baste the meat with the juices.
Slice the meat and
serve with pears, onion and rice or couscous.
